Project Details
Description
The aim of this project is to investigate problems that are at the heart of Statistical Learning Theory but are also central in the field of Asymptotic Geometric Analysis. Both these areas fall under the general umbrella of Phenomena in High Dimension, but seem very far apart. It is rather surprising that the two areas are truly connected, and fully understanding these connections is our goal. Moreover, the influence goes in both directions not only do breakthrough results in Asymptotic Geometry are extremely useful in Statistical Learning, but also ideas originating from Learning Theory can be used to solve fundamental problems in Asymptotic Geometry. Our aim is to address some of the most fundamental questions in both areas.
