Atom based quantum memory and machine learning

    Project: Research

    Project Details

    Description

This proposal outlines our case for a new laser system that will advance the capabilities of the ANU atomic quantum memory program. Over the past 15 years, this program has delivered world record results in quantum memory performance and a string of publications in Nature, Nature Physics andNature Comms. Most recently our memory system has become a testbed for a cutting-edge machine-learning algorithm that can learn and improve the performance of an experiment in real time. The requested equipment would secure the future of our work and enable the productive sharing of equipment and machine learning technology.
