    Project: Research

    Project Details

    Description

The Australian Centre for Epidemic Forecasting and Analytics (ACEFA) will strengthen Australias preparedness for infectious diseases by advancing analytic methods, optimising surveillance, and rapidly translating research into policy. Despite strong COVID-19 control, critical gaps remain in policy translation, advanced analytics, and data utility. With global leaders investing heavily in epidemic forecasting, Australia risks falling behind. ACEFA will establish national Forecasting and Scenario Modelling Hubs, create a Community of Practice, and provide open-source tools and guidelines, ensuring timely, high-quality evidence informs public health decisions in Australia, the Asia-Pacific, and beyond.
