Australian deep-space optical ground station network

This project will establish the first deep space communication capable node by equipping the ANUOGS with instruments to demonstrate its capabilities for missions in LEO, Lunar, and Deep-Spaceorbits. The optical instruments are currently at the preliminary design review phase, with this projectfinishing the design process, constructing, and demonstrating the upgraded capability of the ANUOGS with these instruments. These demonstrations will provide a proof-of-concept for an expandedAOGSN with multiple nodes. Analysis of commercial operations of such a network and integrationwith radio-frequency facilities will also be studied during this project to provide a pathway for industryleadership to complete and operate the AOGSN.
