Project Details
Description
The Bendigo Advocacy-Health Alliance (AHA) project is a partnership between the Loddon Campaspe Community Legal Centre and Bendigo Community Health Services. The AHA project aims to address the social determinants of health capable of legal redress. The partnership is based on the understanding that many vulnerable and disadvantaged people do not consult lawyers for problems that may be capable of a legal resolution; instead they see their trusted health worker. Having a lawyer working alongside health workers aims to provide preventative and strategic advocacy to holistically address barriers to client health and wellbeing. The project is informed and supported by a related project at Loddon Campaspe Community Legal Centre focussing on the legal needs of women that experience family violence entitled Why Didnt You Ask.
