Bioresorbable metal for facial fracture repair: an in vivo study of biocompatibility of GaSrPO4 coated Magnesium and bone regeneration in a sheep model

    Project: Research

    Project Details

    Description

CIs applied to CHS’s private practice fund administration committee for funding for this project. Funding was awarded on 26 April 2023. ANU approached CSU to conduct on the ground testing of the bioresorbable metals in facial fracture repair in sheep. During these discussions CSU brought in a company undertaking fracture repair trials on the back end of sheep. It was determined that costs and animal harm would be reduced if these trials could be conducted simultaneously on the same sheep. This agreement is therefore a three-way agreement between CSU, Qbiotics and ANU to engage CSU to provide the sheep for trialling, manage the sheep during the trial, collect and analyse data.
