Project Details
Description
Boron nitride (BN) nanotubes with tunable conductivity will have a large range of applications in nanoscale circuits and devices. This project aims to improve and control the conductivity of BN nanotubes using doping approach. Preliminary research has found an increased conductivity due to Au doping. Further research is proposed to produce tunable conductivity by doping different elements and at different contents. In addition to experimental research, computer simulation is required to study structural and property changes of BN nanotubes caused by doping and to help optimizing experimental conditions to achieve a well controlled conductivity.
