Building resources for action-oriented team science through syntheses of practices and theories: Theme coordination and leadership

Between 2015-17 SESYNC is funding several pursuits relevant to the theme: “Building resources for action-oriented team science through syntheses of practices and theories.” This is the first time a theme leader has been appointed to co-ordinate the activities of the pursuits. The role of the theme leader is to work with pursuit leaders and teams to maximize interactions and synergies among the pursuits, as well as to maximize outcomes within and across pursuits. The aim is not only to produce valuable resources from each pursuit to enhance socio-environmental synthesis in science and in policy, but also to galvanise the establishment of a community across the pursuits and beyond that will continue to be active in developing, employing and assessing best practices for integrating ideas, data, and methods across diverse disciplines as well as for linking research results with informed policy decisions.
