Bushfire Fuels Spectroscope-Pyrotron Experiments Pilot Study

    Project: Research

    Project Details

    Description

The Spectroscope-Pyrotron Experiments aim to systematically link the spectral response of nationally representative bushfire fuels before and after fire with combustion behaviour, greenhouse gas emissions, and biochemistry. The novel experimental setup and methodology will utilise ANUs Spectroscope and CSIROs National Bushfire Behaviour Research Laboratory, which houses the Pyrotron combustion wind tunnel. The experimental campaign will commence as a Pilot Study in the 2024/25 financial year. This Collaborative Agreement covers the completion of this Pilot Study to prove the experimental methodology and generate initial data sets that will inform the continuation of and/or direction of future work.
