Project Details
Description
To collect information on the Vulnerable Princess Parrot, a priority species under the Australian Governments Threatened Species Action Plan 2022-32. Currently, very little is known about the species ecology, population dynamics, and life history. This project represents the first step in addressing this knowledge gap by gathering baseline data to ultimately report on the trajectory of the species. The project aims to establish a repository of occurrence records, develop a bioclimatic model to identify priority search areas for surveying in partnership with Traditional Owners. This information will be critical to enable on-ground population monitoring, address data deficiencies for wide-ranging, hard-to capture, priority species like the Princess Parrot, and inform future conservation action.
