Project Details
Description
Advanced materials science and engineering, quantum science and technology, nanotechnology and biomedicine are of great research significance to Australia, where strong international impact has been demonstrated. With rapid worldwide progress in these fields, the establishment of Cryogenic Near-Field Imaging and Spectroscopy Facility at the 10-nm-Scale is timely and will ensure Australia a leading role in these areas. It will support many industry-linked and development grants. The supported research outcomes will stimulate global innovation in novel functional materials, advanced light sources, quantum devices, bio-systems and medical diagnosis, stimulating economy growth within Australia. The proposed facility will support research that will identify the means by which Australia can lift productivity and economic growth and as a consequence to maximise Australias competitive advantage in critical sectors, including optoelectronics, energy conversion, smart sens
