Project Details
Description
Canola is Australia's most valuable oilseed and break crop. Commercial canola is polyploid containing both the A and C genomes and sustained improvements in productivity and resilience will require new genetic diversity to be incorporated into commercial canola. Closely related species contain another genome (B genome) that is rich in diversity for biotic and abiotic stress tolerance. This diversity has been scarcely used in commercial canola due to a series of technical and biological barriers.
