Detection and Control of Ultracold Atoms

    Project: Research

    Project Details

    Description

Atom lasers are a coherent source of atoms that will provide sensitive detection devices, quantum information storage and advance understanding in the fundamental physics of quantum fields. This project will answer questions that are essential to produce the next generation atom laser. It will develop schemes to non-destructively detect ultracold atoms and combine theory from several disciplines to provide practical feedback schemes that will dramatically improve the stability of these devices.
