Detection and differentiation of plant pathogens in air samples using high throughput sequencing

    Project: Research

    Project Details

    Description

This project assesses an automated method designed by the SARDI to process up to 500 environmental samples per day, and the utility of satellite enabled mobile surveillance platforms (iMapPESTS) that incorporate several smart trapping devices for monitoring airborne pathogens, coupled with end-to-end data monitoring. Combining high throughput eDNA based identification with non-invasive sentinel air sampling provides great improvements to accurate and reliable detection and in data forms connected to preferred Biosecurity portals (AusPestCheck).
