    Project Details

    Description

In collaboration with Chalmers University in Sweden, we will develop a wideband scanning microwave tomography system at the Australian National University. Microwave imaging is a rapidly emerging technology with significant applications in industry, science and medicine. By design, our system delivers radar backscatter data that will be amenable to fast linear reconstruction algorithms based on an extended Born approximation. We will construct the instrument and inverse methods and compare results with a more elaborate and computationally expensive near-field imaging system at Chalmers. The overall goal is to develop a fast microwave system for inexpensive and routine non-invasive imaging.
