Development of pan-flaviviral protease inhibitors

    Project: Research

    Project Details

    Description

This project aims to develop drug candidates against flavivirus infections. Flaviviruses are transmitted to humans byinsect bites and can cause severe infectious diseases. Many arboviruses circulate in Australia with the potential ofexplosive future outbreaks. This project will target viral enzymes called proteases which are essential for viralreplication. The project aims to develop different types of protease inhibitors that may be active against a wholerange of flaviviruses.
