Description
The terahertz (THz) spectral regime, extending from frequencies of 0.1 to 10 THz, is of great importance to medical, security, and manufacturing sectors. However, it has been relatively unexplored because of accessibility difficulties. This project aims to develop terahertz hybrid metamaterials based on III-V semiconductors to fill this research gap due to the customizable characteristics of such artificially-made composite materials. The outcomes of this project will expand the capability of the existing systems in efficient real-time control and manipulation of terahertz radiations. The success of this project will directly benefit the core research areas of advanced materials science and photonics in Australia.
