    Description

    This project is based on further ongoing Centre activities related to the development of sensitive directional detectors based on Time-Projection Chamber (TPC) technology. The detectors have potential for directional neutron detection, source localisation, and fast neutron spectroscopy which are applications that are of interest to Defence. Development of a prototype will leverage extensive existing investment made by the ANU node of the Centre into experimental gas TPC infrastructure. The funding provided by DTSG to the Centre shall be used to support further development of a new litre-scale prototype gas TPC, CYGNUS-n the TPC detector
