Project Details
Description
This Project Agreement pertains to the preparation and analysis of rock and sedimentsamples from the East Kimberley Exploring for the Future (EftF) Project area in order toacquire cosmogenic radionuclide (CRN) ages. The Project seeks to understand the Quaternary landscape history of the lower Ord Riverand its paleovalley system. Specifically, the Project will contribute CRN Data to helpconstrain the age of the modern and paleovalley systems, and assist in determining thetiming of avulsion of the Ord River to its present course. CRN will be used predominantlyto determine exposure ages for erosional bedrock surfaces in modern (and paleo)channels, as well as testing landform residence times and potentially depositional timingof paleovalley fill sediments.
