    The two largest economies, the United States and China, are locked into a trade war and strategic rivalry that complicates international policy choices for the rest of the world. The multilateral rules-based economic order that East Asian economic integration and cooperation is built on is under threat. How can ASEAN and East Asian countries balance their security interests alongside their economic interests and avoid seeing them as a trade-off And how can the countries individually and collectively broaden their policy options and deepen economic integration
