Project Details
Description
In rural China most adults hope that their children's educational advancement will enable them to secure urban jobs. Kipnis and Li have both conducted research on the potentially explosive politics of education reform in this situation. They will share data, co-author articles and translate each other s work, enabling Li s work to reach an English-language readership and Kipnis s work to be read in Chinese, by both official audiences and the wider academic public. The expected outcomes include a coauthored book, jointly authored conference papers, and several journal articles. Future collaborations and exchanges will also be planned.
