Project Details
Description
The political swing from social liberalism to neoliberalism is profoundly affecting society's commitments to social justice, for it is the market and capital accumulation that are now extolled. The quest for equal opportunity for women, racial minorities and people with disabilities has been thwarted because the employer need for flexibility has made work precarious and insecure. The project will study the contradictory status of EEO measures, including the operation of anti-discrimination legislation, in the context of the ascendancy of the market, globalisation, free trade agreements and corporate power.
