Project Details
Description
This Project aims to build, demonstrate and advance world-leading quantum microscopes in Australia. The microscopes are based upon the proven and unique quantum metrology capabilities of nitrogen-vacancy centre defect spins in diamond. The immediate goal is to apply the microscopes to produce unprecedented nanoscale images of the electric fields of individual electric charges and molecules in ambient conditions. The subsequent goal is to extend the capabilities of the microscopes towards the vibrational resonance imaging of single molecules. In doing so, this Project potentially offers revolutionary capability for the study of electronic processes within biology and nanotechnology as well as the structure and properties of complex molecules
