Project Details
Description
This project aims to progress the transfer of Laser Guide Star Adaptive Optics (LGS-AO) from astronomical observations in ground-based telescopes to optical communications to/from space. In both domains, laser light traversing the atmosphere experiences turbulence, necessitating effective correction methods. LGS-AO emerges as a possible solution to mitigate these atmospheric effects. However, to fully exploit its potential for ground to space optical links, technological advancements are required.
