Project Details
Description
Our project will provide a way for health services to create data-informed predictions about how acute healthcare presentations fluctuate in response to changes in measurable environmental factors. We will build an analytical model to combine environmental data from the Bureau of Meteorology and others with private and public hospital presentations. We will pilot this model in regional Australia to translate national trends in hospital admission rates and emergency department presentation patterns into clinical practice in a regional context. -------- Funding Agreement drafted May 2022 for a Literature review to be conducted ahead of funding the full project. The review will focus on hospitalisations and climate on an Australian level but will refer to international literature where it has been done. It will also include protocol for a systematic review that could be published if the full grant is awarded.
