Description
Over the past thirty years, in Western countries, the emergence of behavioural addictions has been the subject of debates among researchers and clinicians, both in terms of their prevalence and their definition as a diagnostic category. While disagreements remain regarding their inclusion in diagnostic manuals (DSM-V and ICD-11), behavioural addictions, such as those related to the Internet, sex, work and sport are now the subject of growing scientific, therapeutic and media interest. In order to fill the gaps in the literature and to contribute to debates on behavioural addictions especially, whether this should be considered a public health problem this research project adopts a perspective that is rarely explored in a field largely dominated by biomedical and psychological approaches.
