Description
((No funds to ANU)) ANU role is to provide advice only.Project to monitor, screen and ultimately prevent HPV associated OPSCC in an Indigenous adult cohort. To undertake extensive cost-effectiveness modelling around HPV vaccination. In the studys first phase, 1011 Indigenous SA adults provided saliva samples to test for oral HPV infection and completed extensive questionnaires on OPSCC risk factors and health state preferences around HPV infection and OPSCC. The same occurred at 12-month (749 participants retained; 78%) and 24 month follow-ups (to date, 714 participants). We seek to continue follow-up to ascertain prevalence, incidence, clearance and persistence of oral HPV infection at 48, 60 and 72 months.
