Project Details
Description
This project aims to develop a distinctive feminist perspective on Australia's relations with Asia. It will deploy new feminist International Relations approaches to reveal both the gender politics of inter-state relations, and a feminist politics of region. It will interrogate the Asian miracle, the Asian crisis and East Timor as sites for the gendered reconstruction of state power and interstate relations. It will trace Australian feminists engagements in the region, including in transnational campaigns which seek to challenge the effects of these dramatic changes in regional power relations and political economy.
