    Project: Research

    Project Details

    Description

The proposed project aims to extend this groundbreaking work by:1. Characterising the temporal changes in and molecular mechanisms underlying fibrinolysis resistance in sepsis and severe trauma using VET and established laboratory-based techniques;2. Evaluating ex-vivo a range of fibrinolysis modifiers as potential therapeutic agents;3. Assessing VET fibrinolysis variables from (1) along with recognised significant predictors for sepsis and severe trauma outcomes in a clinical prediction model.4. Performing a pre-trial economic analysis to assess the potential value of the clinical prediction tool to guide treatment and avoid adverse outcomes.
