Functional Genomics of Photo-Oxidative Damage

    Project: Research

    Project Details

    Description

Our goal is to understand the key mechanisms by which plants sense and respond to photo-oxidative conditions that would otherwise generate active oxygen species that can sverely limit plant growth and productivity. Plants have several mechanisms that protect against oxidative damage, however, the key mechanisms and pathways that coordinate the plant's responses are poorly understood. A large scale, multi-laboratory project co-ordinated by Arizona State University is being established to identify the regulatory components using the powerful tools of functional genomics. This proposal seeks to expand this project into an international collaboration that will accelerate progress and expand genomics research in Australia
