    Project Details

    Description

This project begins by asking how members of the international community understand the concept of gender in its work in post-conflict zones. After analysing the intricacies of competing conceptualisations of gender, this project then examines how these understanding become operationalised in the breadth of the international community's work in the post-conflict context. In doing so, this project maps the successes and failures of the international community in coherently considering the role that gender plays in transitioning post-conflict societies toward sustainable peace.
