Project Details
Description
This Project aims to generate new knowledge on how to effect public policy to reduce the supply and consumption of a health-harming commodity: ultra-processed foods (UPF). Using governance theory and qualitative techniques we intend to identify the actors who are influential in three key policy areas (Trade/Taxation/Marketing) that affect the consumption of these foods in Australia, Thailand and Fiji, and what kinds of strategies work best to pursue these different actor's interests. This evidence will inform the ways in which institutions and organisations can work to promote better policy that leads to good nutrition outcomes.
