Hidden Treasures of the Mitchell Library: Sydney Periodicals 1900-1930

The Mitchell Library has a large and unique collection of the magazines of this period, and I wish to make the extent and coherence of its holdings more visible to researchers by conducting a thorough survey of them in order to produce: i) a database/register detailing the changing nature and content of each magazine; ii) an extended bibliographic essay analysing the magazines, their probable readership, and their significance for the social and cultural history of Sydney.iii) a detailed plan and draft of a monograph on the social and cultural life of early twentieth century Sydney
