Project Details
Description
The project aims to promote research in a broad range of science and technology by providing access to a widebandwidth, high speed, high resolution advanced terahertz spectrometer. The significance is that terahertzfrequencies represent the least-explored region of the electromagnetic spectrum and investment here is mostlikely to yield scientific and technological reward. The expected outcomes are reliable access to world-leadinginstrumentation producing large quantities of high quality terahertz spectra. The benefits are expected to begreater insights into physical processes occurring at terahertz frequencies, corresponding to the femtosecond time scale. Expected impacts are new devices and products operating in the terahertz regime.
