Project Details
Description
Effective action on CVD inequalities requires intervention from key policy and practice organisations, guided by integrated quantitative andqualitative evidence on inequalities in CVD health across the CVD risk-treatment continuum. To this end, researchers will join with policy and practice partners the National Heart Foundation, The Consumers Health Forum and the NSW Agency for Clinical Innovationalong with participating institutions, including the Poche Centre for Indigenous Health Research and the Centre for Rural and Remote Mental Health. The project combines data from existing datasets on CVD, and adds new data, to quantify variation in CVD incidence, risk factors, care and outcomes across four domains of disadvantagesocioeconomic status, Aboriginality, remoteness and mental health. This will enable a wholesystem-perspective on factors contributing to CVD inequalities, from prevention and primary care through to acute care and rehabilitation.
