Identifying the secular evolution of chemical heterogeneity in the mantle as probed by deep mantle plumes

Memory of the chemical evolution of the Earth will be accessed by studying ancient and recent flood basalts and massive magmatic bodies. Linking these mantle-plume melts with high-grade metal enrichment and global anoxic events will allow a better understanding of modes of ore deposition and the impact of volcanic activity on the global climate.
