Project Details
Description
A detailed understanding of chemical reactions at the molecular level is becoming increasingly important to fields as diverse as atmospheric studies, bio-molecular engineering and nanotechnology. In all chemical reactions a temporary intermediate state occurs, where atoms are exchanged or rearranged, which controls the fundamental aspects of the reaction pathways. The character of the temporary transition state and the reaction products will be studied by combining novel experimental techniques. These techniques will provide world-leading resolution and sensitivity, allowing the many complexities and questions concerning the dynamics of chemical reactions to be unravelled.
