INSLM terrorism research

The research team proposes to comprehensively address the following issues: a.Analysis of previous Australian reviews that considered the definition of a terrorist act and how findings and recommendations about the definition from those earlier reviews may apply today. b.A comparative analysis of the definition of a terrorist act in s100.1 and similar definitions in comparable countries (including the 5-Eyes) and in contemporary academic literature and relevant policy documents. c.Mapping (over time) of the increasing number of laws outside Part 5.3 of the Criminal Code that rely on the definition of a terrorist act (including where there is dependence on offences that rely on that definition).
