Description
The modern era of micro/nano-technology promises revolutionary new paradigms in low power, lowwaste and high-speed devices. However, due to their micro/nano sizes there are new challenges inthe characterisation of such materials and devices. For future research and technology development,a multifunctional characterization platform, combining electrical, optical and magnetic capabilities andlow temperature environment, is vital to improve the fundamental understanding of devices and relatedphysical phenomena. It is often simple enough to measure any two of the above propertiessimultaneously but combining all four (temperature, electrical, optical and magnetic) will offer new andexciting possibilities. The ANU currently does not possess such an integrated low temperatureplatform for multifunctional electro-magneto-optical characterization of micro-/nano-devices.
