Project Details
Description
The project aims to develop breakthrough microwave photonic processors with increased bandwidth andunprecedented RF signal processing. The new chip-scale platform using stimulated Brillouin scattering in photonicintegrated circuits should provide vastly improved performance for applications such as phased-array antennas, satellite communications, electronic-countermeasures and radar processing and for future fifth-generation wireless communications. The outcomes will be achieved through collaboration between Australian Universities, DSTG, and Harris, a leading edge company. Benefits for Australian end-users and industry include improved surveillance for defence and revenue growth in companies working with the Australian defence forces.
