The primary role of a Coordinating Lead Author (CLA) in an IPCC (Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change) report is to lead the author team in charge of a specific chapter, defining the tasks to be executed by the Chapter Scientists, and overseeing the technical support provided to the author team.
