Macadamia pollination gap analysis and industry opportunities

The objective of this project is to gather knowledge about macadamia pollination and practice in Australia and other leading producer countries. To supplement published reports the project will also survey practitioners. An assessment of this information will provide the foundation for a gap analysis and identification of opportunities for future work. The project will also compile an on-line compendium of available materials that will serve as a one-stop-shop for macadamia pollination information.The establishment of Varroa mite in Australia creates urgency for this project, because it impacts the availability of managed and feral honeybees. The project will support industry capacity to adapt to this event and to support sustainable production.
