Project Details
Description
Over the next 5 years I will focus my research on the spatiotemporal epidemiology of major emerging infectious disease (EID) threats that are associated with a significant burden of illness and mortality in Australia: 1) Dengue and other
arboviruses; 2) Leptospirosis; 3) Influenza; and 3) Clostridium difficile and other emerging antibiotic-resistant healthcare-associated bacterial infections. This will build on a successful programme of research that has placed me at the international forefront of spatial epidemiological
research in infectious diseases, funded by nine grants from NHMRC and the UBS Optimus Foundation.
