Mechanisms and targets of protein synthesis dysregulation in cancer

    Project: Research

    Project Details

    Description

Specific changes to the translation of messenger RNAs into protein are known to be critical to the transformation of normal cells into a tumour and yet they are poorly understood. We have developed a novel way to analyse translation and will apply it for the first time in cancer research to characterise differences in translation between tumour and normal. This will define regulatory changes underpinning malignancies and contribute to the search for better treatment.
