Description
Australias future prosperity depends on the decarbonisation of global energy generation, low cost, abundant electricity, and embodied-energy export of our vast solar resources. These goals require cheaper, more powerful solar energy. A novel material called perovskite is poised to be the next generation technology. Yet despite dramatic progress in performance, material stability is a critical weakness, and one that has been significantly unaddressed. In this project, we will identify how and why perovskite materials degrade under environmental stresses and uncover strategies to suppress degradation via our latest development in interpretable machine learning algorithms. Through this knowledge, we will demonstrate practical proof-of-concept stability improvement of perovskite solar cells, which is expected to draw industry collaboration and spur technology transfer, given the urgency sur
