Project Details
Description
New high-performance materials are required for applications in photonics, nanophotonics and biophotonics. This project addresses a critically important requirement in photonics: it will involve development of materials with enhanced nonlinear optical (NLO) merit, which are needed for applications in optical communications, data storage and processing, nanofabrication and biological applications. Concomitant with these studies, the fundamental organometallic chemistry of metal alkynyl complexes will be developed, affording oligomeric and dendritic species, which are of intrinsic as well as applied interest.
