Micro and Nanostructure Optical Characterisation Facility

    Project: Research

    Project Details

    Description

Nanoscale science and technology is expected to play a major role in all industry sectors with predictions of multi-trillion dollar economic activity in the next 20 years. Nanostructures provide an opportunity to study quantum effects and novel phenomena predicted at nanometer scale. The aim of this proposal is to establish a state of the art optical characterisation facility for studying micro and nanostructures. This Facility will benefit researchers in the Universities, DSTO and industry. This facility enhances the opportunities to carry out fundamental science at the cutting edge as well as develop technologies of interest to the Australian industry.
