Molecular determinants and clinical outcomes of Indigenous blood cancer: The first comprehensive survey

The research team will work with SA NT DataLink to identify a cohort of Aboriginal blood cancer patients within these data registries. Data from this Aboriginal cohort will be reinterpreted to develop a detailed annotation of molecular blood cancer subtypes in Aboriginal South Australian populations. By combining this with linked SA Health data, this study will be the first to report on the clinical and molecular subtypes of blood cancer associated with poor outcomes in an Australian Aboriginal patient cohort. Community engagement throughout the life of the project will develop a shared precision blood cancer research agenda. Novel findings generated from this study along with an understanding of community needs, interest and aspirations in this research area will provide a strong evidence base for future research.
