Na()-dysregulating antimalarials: blocking the roads to resistance by understanding PfATP4 and its place in parasite physiology

    Project: Research

    Project Details

    Description

Malaria, a disease caused by Plasmodium parasites and spread by mosquitoes, caused an estimated 619,000 deaths in 2021. The current first-line treatments for malaria are failing in some regions, and we urgently need new antimalarials with novel modes of action.
