Project Details
Description
The pathway for translation of our research into practice will be to identify prioritydruggable targets for clinical application. Extracellular Vesicles (EVs), which are smallparticles released by every cell, are an exciting new area of therapeutics currentlyundergoing a meteoric rise in research development. Recent new advances in drugdevelopment have demonstrated positive results by blocking the cells machinery thatreleases EVs. Moreover, hijacking the ability of cells to produce EVs has also shownpromising results in therapeutic delivery, suggesting EVs may sit at an importantcrossroad in disease development, acting as both a pathological protein vector andtherapeutic target.
